DRUMMOND, JOHN W., public official; born Gallipolis, O., Jan. 18, 1868; Scotch-English descent; son of Thomas and Jeanette (Lambert) DRUMMOND; educated at Lebanon, O., and Cincinnati; graduated from University of Cincinnati with degree L.L.B., in 1891; in early life taught school; married Mamie E. BLANG April 15, 1896; member Masons (32d degree, Knights Templar, Mystic Shrine) Past Master of Bright Hope No. 557; admitted to practice law in 1891, and began the practice in same year at Knoxville, Tenn., and has practiced continually since that time; Representative in General Assembly (lower house) of Tenn., 1907-1909; elected Judge of the County Court of Knox Co., Tenn., in 1910, and is the present incumbent; former City Attorney for Mountain View, Tenn., 1909-10; resigned to make race for County Judge; member of M.E. church.
