CLARK, Micajah Henry, tobacconist; born Richmond, Va., Sept. 4, 1830; English descent; son of Micajah and Caroline Virginia (Harris) CLARK; father’s occupation, physician; paternal grandfather, Hon. William CLARK, paternal grandmother Judith W. (Cheadle) CLARK, maternal grandfather Benjamin James HARRIS, maternal grandmother Sarah (Ellyson) HARRIS; graduated Richmond, Va., 1847; in early life was engaged in cotton manufactury in Chicopee, Mass.; married Elizabeth Watt KERR July 30, 1861; Confederate soldier, private Co. I, Third Battalion Va. L. D. D. of Richmond (Va).; given staff appointment in Charlotte (N. C. ) April, 1865, by President Jefferson Davis; also appointed acting treasurer C. S. at Washington (Ga.) May 4, 1865.
