GOLTMAN, Max, physician; born Glasgow, Scotland, May 24, 1867; Scotch descent; son of Solomon and Cecilia (TOBIAS) GOLTMAN; paternal grandfather, Samuel GOLTMAN, maternal grandfather, Charles TOBIAS; educated Bishop’s University, Montreal, Canada, and graduated from same C. M. and M. D. degrees 1892; married Mollie STERNBERG, Dec. 12, 1895; member Masons (Blue Lodge), B. P. O. E., Business Men’s Club, Shelby County Medical Association, Tenn. State Medical Assn. American Medical Assn. and Western, Tenn., and Mississippi Valley Medical Assns.; served as interne at Woman’s Hospital, and Lying in Hospital of Montreal, Canada, and took post graduate work at Glasgow, London and Edinburgh, also post graduate work at Bellevue Hospital Mt. Sinai and Johns Hopkins Hospital, Boston, etc.; engaged in practice of medicine in Memphis, Tenn., since 1896; superintendent Health Department , City of Memphis, Professor of Clinical Surgery University of Memphis, medical department and attending surgeon at Memphis City Hospital, also president medical staff of same; member of the Jewish Synagogue.
