Buckner RUSSELS Last Will and Testament
Rendered January 21st, 1836

       I Buckner RUSSEL signed, being weak in body but of sound perfect mind  and memory blessed by Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following that is to say.  First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved Rachel RUSSEL one carriage and harness and all my household and kitchen furniture and one cow and one heifer and my Bible and books.  I do also give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret RUSSEL, wife of Aaron RUSSEL, one cow name "Pud".  I do also give and bequeath unto my son Buckner RUSSEL, three head of cattle two sows and thirteen shoats, two horses and all my tools of every description - I do also  give and bequeath unto my grandson William RUSSEL, son of Buckner RUSSEL, two  steers which said several species of property or legacies.  I will and order shall be paid and delivered over to the said legatees within six months after my decease.  I further give and advise to my wife Rachel RUSSEL her heirs and assigns all that tract of land lying and being in the County of Weakley in 12th surveyors district, 2nd Range and 7th section on Thomas Creek, granted to me the 1st day of January, 1835 by grant No. 2619 containing 34 1/2 acres of land and lastly I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Rachel RUSSEL sole  Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight hundred and thirty five.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Buckner  RUSSEL to be his last will and testament in the presents of us who have here  unto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presents of the testator.
