THOMAS JONES Last Will and Testament 

A will: In the name of God Amen.  I, THOMAS JONES, of the County of Weakley and State of Tennessee, (being in soundmind and memory) calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do makethis may last will and testament in form and words as followeth: 

First of all I give and bequeath my Soul unto the hands of that God who gave it, and my body to be consigned to its motherdust - and as to those worldly concerns wherewith it has pleased God to bless me I give and bequeath them in the followingmanner (to wit). 

Item 1. I give and demise unto my loving wife FRANCES JONES during her natural life, the tract of land whereon I now liveand all my farming utensils.  I also give her my stock of horses, cattle, hogs and sheep together with the household and kitchen furniture. 

Item 2.  Should my daughter FRANCES alter her situation in life by marriage, it is my wish that she should have of the personal property (above demised) a share equal in value to the part already given to my daughter REBECCA. 

Item 3.  It is my wish that my said wife FRANCES JONES make a will at her decease, but in case she should not, it is my will that the stock of every description, farming utensils and furniture of all kinds be sold on a credit of nine months and the proceeds equally divided among my several children. 

Item 4.  It is my wish that the children of my sons or daughters who may have deceased, have the share to which their
deceased parent would have been entitled. 

Item 5.  It is my wish and request that my two sons, JOHN and THOMAS JONES stay with their mother and assist her to take care of the plantation stock and everything pertaining to it and if they do so it is my will that they have the land on which I now live, and I do hereby appoint my said sons JOHN and THOMAS JONES executors to this my last will and Testament; hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

There was the due execution of the foregoing will freely proven in open court by the oaths of JOHN H. REAVES and VINCENT RUST, the subscribing witnesses and ordered to be recorded.
