Will of  Henry HENDRIX 

Last Will Recorded March the 12, 1830 Weakley Co, TN

In the name of God Amen-I Henry Hendricks of the state of Tennessee Weakley county calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die and after death the judgment being in good health and of sound mind and memory blest with such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with doth into proper to dispose of the same in the following manor and form and do make and order in this my last will and testament disannulling al other wills hear to fore by me made.
                                                                                                     .
 And first of all I do recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors.

Then I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Cary Hendricks one Negro girl named Selvia about seven years old Also I will ad bequeath to my beloved wife Cary Hendricks on bed and all the household furniture that she possessed before we were married together  with all the additional furniture that she may add to said bed also one set of earthen plates one sit of knives and forks two earthen dishes two pitchers one set of cups and saucers one cream pot one looking glass one coffee mill one three gallon pot, pot hooks and pot rack one bake oven and half dozen chairs one chest on cow and calf one spinning wheel one pair of cotton cards fifty weight of picked cotton and ten barrels of corn one washing tub one pail three hundred weight of pork one sow and pigs one piggin and one churn all of the above named property I give unto her during life and for her to dispose of as she may think proper.

I also reserve sixty odd acres of land taken out of the north east corner of the tract of land that I now live on for my wife Cary Hendricks for a home during her natural life or so long as she remain a widow and live on said land then she relinquishes all her wright to said land into the hands of my executor and as the benefit of my two sons Washington and William Hendricks and whereas my daughter Sally Cummins has received of my estate one hundred and seventy three dollars, my son Pinkney Hendricks one hundred and seventy three dollar my daughter Elizabeth Hopper one hundred seventy three dollars my son Alford Hendricks on hundred and seventy three dollars my son Paden Hendricks one hundred and fifty one dollars. I therefore will and bequeath to my daughter Polly Ann Hendricks one Negro girl named Lissa together with her bed, bed stead and chair, two tea pans and two bed quilts and one sheet and one hundred and eighty three dollars and if said Negro girl should die before my daughter Polly Ann becomes of age as mannys ? in one hundred and fifty dollars is to be made unto her out of the rest of my property

Also I will and bequeath to my two sons Washington and William Hendricks the tract of land where on I now live running a line from east to west across said land giving Washington the south end of said land and William the north end at one hundred and seventy eight dollars each. The above named legatees Washington and William A Hendricks not to have  posse from for eight acres for which time Forester Hopper is to keep his part Alford Hendricks all that he clears on said tract of land and my wife Cary to have the benefit of the field called mine left the said Alford Hendricks clears as much land on her lot reserved for her as aid field and puts in good repair for tending them to exchange and said ford to take the field the balance of the time and my son Paden Hendricks his part the term of eight years two Negroes namely Jinney and Haneth and ? lots with all the rest of my property not named to be sold and often paying all just debts making all my legatees ? Equally agreeable the sums named here the balance if any to be divided equally among all my legatees begotten of my body I therefore do nominate and appoint my beloved son and son in law Alford Hendricks and Forester Hopper my true and lawful executors. In witness  where I have lain unto my hand and offered my seal this 15th day of October in the year of our Lord 1829
