Will of Charles Bradshaw - 1828

 Recorded April the 18th 1828. 

In the name of God.  Amen I Charles Bradshaw being of sound mind and memory but in feeble health doth hereby make this my last will and testament, revoking at the same time allother previously made.  In the first place, I give and bequeath to my son John a negro woman named Easter and a negro boy named Wonder. I give to my son Gideon T. Bradshaw a negro woman named Hannah and a negrogirl named Maria. I give to my daughter Polly two negro girls, Jinny and Caty or Catharine.. To my daughter Susanna I give one Sorrel mare and one feather bed and furniture. Tomy daughter Rebecca I give one bay horse and one bed and furniture.My old negro woman Francis I wish to be set free.  To my beloved wife LucretiaI give and bequeath during her natural life three
negroes, ?? Cyntha, Fanny, and James at her death I wish them set free, their offspring if any in the mean time I wish divided among my five last children by my wife Lucretia.  My stock of cattle, hogs, household and other furniture I give and bequeath tomy wife Lucretia until her death to be sold and equally divided among allmychildren. All moneys due me I wish collected as speedily as possible and afterpaying my just debts the balance I wish divided among all my children.  Ihereby constitute and appoint my son John Bradshaw and my friend William Baldridge sen. Executors to this my last will and testament. 

In testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this 16th day of March in the year our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.

(Notes:  Charles Bradshaw first married Rachel Thompson, Daughter of Gideon. Rachael was sister to Ann who m. James Blackwood and sister to Elizabeth who married Isaiah Bradshaw brother toCharles.  The children mentioned by name (2 sons John & Gideon T. and 3 daughters Polly, Susanna and Rebecca) are the children of Charles and Rachael.  The five last children, as far as I have been able to ascertain, are by his second wife Lucretia.
