Smyth Last Will & Testament State of Tennessee Weakley County I Alford Smyth of the aforesaid county & state being of advanced age, in feeble health and in possession of my mental facilities; and in view of the uncertainty of lie, the certainty of death, do hereby make & publish my last will & testament. Bequest 1. I will my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it came. 2nd It is my will and desire that my body be decently interred at the grave yard at New Hope Church. 3rd I will & bequest to my beloved wife D Grant Smyth all my property both personal & real during her natural life. 4th I will and bequeath to my son P H Smyth of the State of Arkansas the sum of fifty dollars which I recently remitted him, he having acknowledged receipt of same. 5th I will & bequeath to my son John M Smyth of Weakley County Tennessee, my daughter Nancy Jane Atkins of the State of Arkansas and my daughter Mariah Ann White of Tennessee all my property that I am now possessed both personal & real to take possession of the same at the death of my wife. 6th I hereby nominate & appoint my son John M Smyth my executor to this my last will and testament given under my hand and seal this July the 8th 1875.
