Alexander Byars
Born in Granville Co., NC, son of Nicholas Byars of Henry Co., TN Will of Alexander Byars Weakley Co., TN Wills and Settlements Vol. B May 1840 - June 1861 pg. 205, 206, 207. December Term County Court 1846 pg. 205 State of Tennessee Weakley County To Alfred Byars a citizen of said Count of Weakley Is appearing to the court that Alexander Byars has died leaving a written will which has been duly proven in open court and your having given bond and qualified according to law as administrator with the will annexed and it having been ordered that letter of administration issue to you. Here and therefore to impower you the said Alfred Byars to enter upon the execution of said will and take into your possession all the property and to make due collection of all the debts and after paying all the just demands against the testator and settling up the business of said estate according to law, you will pay over and deliver the property and effects may remain in your hands and do all other things that may be required according to the provissions of the said will and the laws of the land. Witness Tom H. Etheridge Clerk at office the 7th day of December 1846 and the 70th year of American Independence. Tom H. Etheridge, Clerk pg. 206/07 I Alexander Byars of the county of Weakley and state of Tennessee do make and publish this my last will and testament. Hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me heretofore. 1st. It is my will and desire that my wife Jane have one bed and furniture one cow & calf to her and forever 2nd. To my son William Byars one dollar & a half to him forever. 3rd. To my son Nicholas one dollar & a half to him forever 4th To my son Alfred Byars one dollar & a half to him forever 5th To my daughter Araminta Cox one bed & furniture forever 6th To my son Alexander Byars one dollar and a half forever 7th To my son Cyrus D. Byars Fifty Dollars to him forever 8th To my son Anderson Byars Fifty Dollars to him forever 9th To my daughter Elizabeth Fifty Dollars to her forever 10th To my son George W. Byars Fifty Dollars to him forever 11th To my son Wesley Byars Seventy Five Dollars to him forever But if he dies it shall be devided between mt children Cyrus, Anderson, Elizabeth & George 12th If then should there be anything left after paying my debts it shall be equally devided between all the living children I had by my last wife Jane 13th And I do hereby make and ordain Ashborn F. Collier executor of this my last will and testament. In witness where of I Alexander this testator have this my last will set my hand and seal. This the 26th November 1846 A.
