Dau. of James Somers who settled in Weakley Co. circa 1835. James was born in Caswell County, N.C. the son of Rev. War soldier Capt. John Somers. The Weakley Co land was for Capt. John's war service. Annie was an authoress, writing a novel "Somerville" about the Somers trek from N.C. to Wilson Co., Tn. to claim the military lands. Submitted by Grace Upshaw |
