Reverend Joseph A. FOWLER, son of Bullard FOWLER and Mary B. WHITE, was born June 4, 1828 in NC and died 18 March 1889 in Weakley Co.  He married Sarah Catherine SMITH March 7, 1850, daughter of William Holland SMITH and Mary Bradford WHITE.  She was born Sept. 22, 1830 in NC, and died September 4, 1910.  Both are buried Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Fancy, Tn.  Children: Mary Jane, Luther M., Martha Ann, Hester C., Elizabeth M., Philemon A., Hannah "Ellen", Henry C., John , Emily, Ada, Nancy, and William Coleman FOWLER.
