Family Patterson Cemetery in
Henderson County, TN - this is where they really are buried. from Don/Claudia Tillman -
When we were back in TN in 2000 we went to Henderson Co about 12 miles south of Lexington to Jerry McPeaks farm just off SH 100 located on Sheppard Road. About a mile or so winding around his pasure and across some gulleys he drove us to Mark and Dicey graveyard which was fenced with barbwire to keep the cows out. Their graves were located between 2 trees (large then) and where some of the family had placed gravestones sometime back. I had got directions from a Mr.Jones in Henderson as to where to find the graves as he was the local historian. -------- from Loretta Remember the letter Charles Riddle Patterson wrote in 1881 to his brother, Thomas Patterson. Said his dad (Mark) told him the day before he died where he wanted to be buried. It was the most beautiful spot near the old brick yard. Sarah Campbell Patterson and their oldest son are also buried there along with some other family members. I have been there. You have to go to a home and ask permission to go back a piece on the farm. They are buried near the edge of a woods. I thought it was beautiful when I was there probably ten years ago.(abt 1999) |
