Downtown Greenfield, in the 1930's

Submitted by Kelly Rodgers from collection of her grandmother, Mae Hummel Blackerby, b. 1913 in Greenfield

Most of the cars are either '29, '30, '31 Model A Fords or Chevys. The car with the V grill is a  1933 or '34 Ford, I believe. This is probably a 'cash drawing' that was held each  Saturday afternoon  during the '30's and '40's. For each dollar spent at Greenfield merchants, your name would be included in the drawing.  The building on the corner was the Brasfield Drug Store. This street later became the Dresden-Greenfield Hwy #54. ........Joe Stout
