Weakly Co, Tn. Union Army. I believe this is my great great grandfather Joseph McClain son of John McClain and Lydia. Reasons I believe this is my gggrandfather is: 1. the name is right Joseph McClain (wife was Mary) 2. His son Newburn McClain said the last time he saw his father was when he held open the gate as he rode off to the Civil War. Since he rode off he would have been in the Calvary on a horse. 3. He was in the 1860 census and not in the 1870 census...may have died in the Civil War 4. He was living in Arkansas when he rode off 5. He was born in Weakly Co Tenn 6. He was born about 1825 which by 1864 he would have been about 40 years of age. I am still searching for positive information to prove this is right. Thank you for your consideration. Gerald R.
