Simon FLETCHER
***
Oct 1832 Weakley Co. TN. Court Minutes page 355

This day SIMON FLETCHER filed a declaration in court pursuant to the Act of Congress passed at the City of Washington on the 7th day of June 1832. for the releif of officers and soldiers of  the Revolution, and  Investigators prescribed by the War Department. That the above named applicant was a Revolutionary Soldier and served as he states.

I don't beleive he obtained a pension however as in 1839 in Oct term of court his son John was given money for his support and in the 2 Nov 1832 Court they gave his son money for his support for the next 6 mo and referred to him as a Pauper of the County.

the whole family must have lived there for a while John Jefferson Fletcher was in the 1840 census but Simon was not and I assumed he died before the 1840 census. In 1841. John's brother M. Wilkinson Fletcher and he Killed their brother in law John Pryor, their sister Arence or Arrena's husband, seems like the sister had been abused by the husband and they were taking it up but it must have gotten out of hand ??? and Governor Polk had a warrent out for him in three states but they escaped to Texas, or a least Wilks did I don't know about John. I have not found anything else about John anywhere, but Wilks turns up in Jasper Co Mo. and his wife Nancy files for a divorce and Wilks was teaching scholl and eloped with one of his students Emily Melugen and go to Fannin Co. TX. and is the first school Teacher, and becomes a respected Rancher. and dies in Collin Co. TX. ..... JB.
