Gilbert son of Mark PATTERSON & Sarah "Dicy" RIDDLE b. 12-12-1808 d. 3-31-1893 Greenfield, TN. Milly b. 2-26-1810 d. 1-13-1892 Greenfield, TN. Thought to be the brother of George Washington CAMPBELL. They came to Weakley County in 1836, ran a store at Lynne Point. Bought land starting in early 1840's. Built the first Hotel in new town of Greenfield in 1874. They had 13 children. 5 of his older sons served in Civil War with their Campbell cousins - sons Thomas, William C, and James Monroe died; John Wesley and Gilbert B. survived. Both buried in Patterson Cemetery, started by Gilbert Patterson near his home.
