Adams, James K. P., b, 5/1847; Co. A Cox's Battalion of Partisan Rangers; They fought at the battles of Thompson Station, Brentwood, Chickamauga and went with Gen. Longstreet into East Tenn., Resaca, New Hope Church, Peach Tree Creek, Chattahoochie River, Wheeler's raid into Tennessee, Franklin and Nashville. James contracted measles 60 days before the surrender and was at home on furlough on 5 Dec.1864, when his regiment was paroled at Gainesville, Alabama in May 1865. Aden, Clinton Alonzo, b. 10/12/1835; TN 5th Inf. 1st Co.C; Aden, Clinton TN 10th (DeMoss') Cav. Co.I,K  1st Lt.; 1861 enlisted in the Confederate Army in Capt. Conway's company of the Fifth Regiment and was promoted to captaincy in a cavalry company of the Tenth Tennessee. Adkins, James Coleman, b. 2/12/1845; Co H. 38th VA Inf. Reg; He enlisted on July 2, 1861 at the Pittsylvania Court House. Was wounded in Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg, (Antietam, Maryland) July 1-3, 1863 with Armistead's Brigade. The Danville newspaper "Piedmont Lineages" listed the casualties with Jas. C. Adkins as wounded in the breast. Discharge Nov 6, 1962. Alexander, Don Francisco, b. 7/1838; TN 5th Inf. 2nd Co.E  2nd Lt.; Alexander, D.F. TN Cav. Napier's Bn. Co.E  Capt.; He enlisted in the Confederate Army May 20, 1861, in Company F, Fifth Regiment Tennessee Infantry, and was elected sergeant. After the reorganization of the army in 1862 he came home and organized the escort company for Gen. Lyons, Mr. Alexander being made captain of the same. He fought at Belmont, Hopkins (Ky.), Shiloh, Ft. Donelson and numerous minor skirmishes. In one of the battles he was wounded in the right thigh, which resulted in keeping him from active duty nearly a year. Atkins, John Dewitt Clinton, b. 6/4/1825; TN 5th Inf.  Lt.Col.; Elected lieutenant-colonel of the Fifth Tennessee, Confederate States Army, May 20, 1861, and was elected to the provisional Confederate Congress, without solicitation on his part. In Nov., 1861, he was elected to the permanent Congress, and re-elected in 1863 by the soldiers, receiving the largest number of votes of any member of the Congress.; (Parents; John and Sarah Manley Atkins, Jr.)

Austin, Philip Green, b. 9/21/1831; Co C 12th KY Cavalry, Lyon Brigade, Buford's Division, Forrest's Cavalry; On the 1st of December 1863, he enlisted as a private in Co.C, 12th Kentucky Cavalry and served until the end of the war.  In 1902 he was present at the dedication of the UDC Monument to Confederate Soldiers at Fairview Cemetery in Fulton, Kentucky.
