TENNESSEE BLACK BEARS
OK -
Weakley doesn't have Bears today but it sure did in the 1820's -
remember Davy Crockett !
Drewry family story passed down - in the early days, when they got up
and went outside, didn't know if would be greeted by a bear or Indians

BEAR QUINTRUPLETS - AWESOME!!
"Black bears typically have two
cubs; rarely, one or three. In 2007, in northern New Hampshire, a
black bear Sow gave birth to five healthy young. There were two or
three reports of sows with as many as 4 cubs, but five was,
and is, very extraordinary." Tom Sears.

In 2007, Photographer, Tom
Sears, after hearing about a Bear sow with 5 cubs, spent weeks for this
perfect photo. Wondering if they survived the winter hibernation
period, he spent more time in 2008 looking for the bears - and found
them. |
April 25, 2008 - all 5 of the
cubs plus their Mom out from winter hibernation. Tom says, " When
something as magical as this happens between man and animal, Native
Americans say, "We have walked together in the shadow of a rainbow".
And so it is with humility and great pleasure that I share these
exhilarating photos with you. Do pass them on! " Tom Sears. |
