Registered March 7th 1848 at 7 O’Clk P.M. Know all men by these presents that we Joseph M. LIDDLE and Sarah V. LIDDLE, wife of the said Joseph, of the County of Weakley and State of Tennessee for the sum of two hundred dollars to us in hand paid by Darling JONES of the county and state aforesaid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and conveyed and by these presents do bargain, sell alien, enfeoff, convey and deliver to said Darling JONES and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in said County of Weakley on the waters of Spring Creek and bounded as follows, Viz, Beginning on the south west corner of a tract of land said Joseph M. LIDDLE bought of John C. DODD on the sixth day of July 1846 as appears by deed registered in Weakley County on the 7th of July 1846, running thence east 166 poles to a tree on the edge of a branch marked “D.J.”, thence north 96 _ poles to a stake three white oaks and a hickory pointers, thence west 166 poles to a stake two hickories and two sweet gum pointers, thence 96 _ poles to the Beginning, containing one hundred acres together with all the hereditainments and appurtenances thereunto of right appertaining, to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land with the appertenances to him the said Darling JONES and his heirs forever. And we do for ourselves and our heirs covenant to and with the said Darling JONES d his heirs that we will forever warrant and defend the title to the said land hereby _______ to the said Darling JONES and his heirs against the claim or claims of any and all persons whomsoever whether claiming the same by or through or under or in any other _______.
