Registered Nov 17th 1846 at 2 O’Clk P.M.

 Know all men by these presents that we Joseph M. C. LIDDLE, Sarah V. LIDDLE wife of the said Joseph, and Susan A. MITCHELL, all of the County of Weakley State of Tennessee, for the sum of two hundred dollars to us in hand paid by Darling JONES of the county and state aforesaid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and conveyed and by these presents do bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and deliver to said Darling JONES and his heirs forever, a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in said County of Weakley on the waters of Spring Creek and bounded as follows, Viz, Beginning on the south west corner of a tract of land said Joseph M. C. LIDDLE bought of John O. DODD on the 6th day of July 18_6, running thence east 166 poles to a tree on the edge of a branch marked “D.J.”, thence north 96 _ poles to a stake three white oaks and a hickory pointers, thence west 166 poles to a stake two hickories and two sweet gum pointers, thence 96 _ poles to the Beginning, containing one hundred acres with all the hereditainments and appurtenances thereunto of right appertaining, to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances to him the said Darling JONES and his heirs forever.  And we do further______ and our heirs covenant to and with the said Darling JONES and his heirs that I will forever warrant and defend the title to the said land hereby conveyed to the said Darling JONES and his heirs against the claim or claims of any and all persons whomsoever, whether claim___ the same by or through or under one or any other person.  Given under our hands and seals this the month of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six.

[Spring Creek is now referred to as “Buckor Ditch” by the current owners of the property.  Darling built a dog trot log cabin on this land, in which he lived until his death on 1 Oct 1907.]
