Old Baptist Cemetery

Lat: 35° 00? 38.6?N, Lon: 87° 59? 14.2?WLOCATION: On Second Creek, just across Highway 69 on the Waterloo Road. Take first dim right hand road. Also across creek from Second Creek Church of Christ.

3 May 2010 – The cemetery book lists the location as in Lauderdale Co., AL, when in fact, it is clearly in Hardin Co., TN. It is some distance from the point where one enters Lauderdale Co. on Second Creek Rd. I also talked with a couple of men in the immediate area who showed me where the Wayne/Hardin line is. – David Montgomery [dmont1734@comcast.net]

Oak Grove Cemetery

Lat: 35° 02′ 09″N, Lon: 87° 43′ 57″W Contributed by David Montgomery, 16 Feb 2004 [dmont1734@comcast.net].

The Oak Grove Cemetery is in south central Wayne County, Tennessee. To reach the cemetery, from Collinwood, Tennessee, travel State Hwy. 13 south for approximately 11.6 miles. Turn right (west) onto Pumping Station Rd. (TN Hwy. 227) and go 3.1 miles. Turn right (north) at the crossroads just past the automobile salvage yard. Go about 50 yards and turn left down Oak Grove Church Road, a narrow winding paved road. This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and is very well taken care of. The cemetery is on the north side of the church. Josiah Fowler was the founder of Oak Grove cemetery as noted on his head stone. The following survey has been checked for accuracy of names & dates. All information has been taken from head and/or foot markers. I completed this survey on Oct 26, 2003. – David Montgomery
