Monday August 5th 1850
State of Tennessee Wayne County
Be it remembered that a quarterly County Court was begond and held for the County of Wayne at the Court house in the town of Waynesboro on the 5th day it being the first Monday in August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty the following Justices present and presiding (To wit) D J JONES Chr. YOUNG and LAFFERTY his associates.
A settlement between Wm JONES Clerk of this Court and Elizabeth CARTER Guardian to the minor heirs of David CARTER dec’d was this day submitted to the Court which was confirmed and ordered to be recorded.
Came D.J. Jones Guardian to [the minor heirs of George V-crossed out] Giles VINSANT minor heir of George VINSAND dec’d and renewed his bond in the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars with C B McLEAN his security which was approved of by the Court and ordered to be recorded.
Ordered by the Court that C H HUGHLING be appointed overseer of the road of 2d Class and that he work from the Waynesboro & Savannah road, the Eastport Road to the Eight mile tree & that he have Joseph HUGHLING, Alison HUGHLING, Thomas Arnold Longrun[?] MORRIS, Hazle COPELAND and all the hands in that bounds to work under his direction Issued Aug. 5th 1850
Came C B McLEAN in to Court who has been chosen and appointed Administrator upon all and singular the goods & Chattles rights & Credits of Henry GRIMES deceased and entered into bond in the sum of thirty hundred dollars with John McDOUGAL and W W GRIMES his securities Conditioned for the faithful performance of his said Administrationship which was received by the Court and ordered to be recorded Whereupon the said McLEAN took the necessary Oath for his qualification.
Came Thomas P CYPERT who was on the 15th day of July last duly and legally Elected Justice of the peace for said County by the qualified Voters of the 8th Civil district thereof and presented to the Court his Commission whereupon the said T P CYPERT took the necessary oaths for this qualification.
Came James C WHITAKER who was duly elected a Justice of the peace of Wayne County by the qualified Voter[sic] of the 3rd Civil district thereof and presented to the Court his Commission whereupon the said J C WHITAKER took the necessary oaths for this qualification.
Monday August 5th 1850
Ordered by the Court that Jonathan MORRIS [ Jonathan I BIFFLE and – crossed out] John McDOUGALand Joseph EAST be appointed Commissioners to allot and set apart to Mary Ann Elizabeth Grimes minor heir of Henry GRIMES deceased so much of the Crop stock provision& money sufficient for the support of said minor one year from the time of the death of her said father and that order Issue accordingly.

A settlement between Wm JONES Clerk of this Court and James H McLAMORE Guardian of Joel McLAMORE was this day submitted to the court which was confirmed and ordered to be recorded.
A settlement between Wm JONESClerk of this Court and D J JONES Guardian of the Minor heirs of George VINSAND dec’d was this day submitted to the Court which was confirmed by the Court and ordered to be recorded.
A settlement between Wm JONES Clerk of this Court and Louisa MARTIN Guardian of the minor heirs of John MARTIN dec’d was this day submitted to the Court which was confirmed by the Court and ordered to be recorded.
Came Louisa MARTIN Guardian to Caroline Benjamin & Mary minor heirs of John MARTIN dec’d and renewed her bond in the sum of fifty dollars with John STRICKLIN her security which was approved of by the Court and ordered to be recorded.
Came Joacim DUGAR Guar. to Wm. M Malinda K & Sarah Arm-[?] minor heirs of George CROSSNO dec’d and renewed his bond in the sum of one thousand & fifty dollars with Jacob SCOTT his security which was approved of by the Court and ordered to be recorded.
