SHELTON, Claude Nathaniel, was born 24 March 1897, the son of Allen D. SHELTON, b. 12 Feb 1865, d. 4 Jan 1946, buried Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery, and Adeline GRIMES, b. March 1864. Claude was inducted into the Army on 30 Aug 1918 and discharged on 22 Mar 1919. He spent most of his service in El Paso, TX at Camp Boyd.

He married Clura BECKHAM in 1923 and they had three children. Colene who married Harold RASBURY, Fannie Lou PHILLIPS and James Ray SHELTON. Claude died 9 July 1979. His brothers were Richard Lee SHELTON, b. Aug 1884; David SHELTON, b. Oct 1886; Franklin SHELTON, and Arch SHELTON, b. Oct 1895. His sisters were Mary Bell FRANKS, b. Jan 1890; Catherine YOUNG, b. July 1891; Emma YOUNG, b. Aug 1892; Parlee NOWLIN, b. March 1894 and Alice NEILL, b. Sep 1897.
