Morrow, Millard Franklin

Millard F. Morrow on horse.MORROW, Millard Franklin, was born 17 Jan 1893 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of Robert Luthel and Margaret H. BREWER MORROW. He died 8 April 1960 in Grenda, Mississiooi and is buried at McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, TN. He attended school in Waynesboro, TN and studied mechanical engineering at Tennessee Polytechnic Institute, Cookeville, TN.

He served in Troop D, 11th Cavalry during the conflict with Mexico in fighting with Poncho Villa, 1916 – 1918. He was in many skirmisheMilliard F. Morrow and unidentified tent matess with the guerillas and at one time, for a period of seven months, he was so far into the wilds of Mexico that he was unable to communicate with his parents.

Millard Franklin MORROW married on 19 Nov 1920 in Collinwood, TN to Mrs. Edna Florence RIPPY RICH, the daughter of Dr. W. W. RIPPY and Mary Malinda MARTIN. She was born 11 Sep 1898 in Wayne Co., TN and died 14 Jan 1967 in Granada, Mississippi, buried at McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood,,TN. Millard and Edna had the following children:

1. Millard Howard MORROW, b. 3 Feb 1922, Collinwood, TN.

2. Mary Margaret MORROW, b. 9 June 1926, Collinwood, TN

3. Dorothy Elizabeth MORROW, b. 29 April 1930, Waynesboro, TN.

Edna Florence RIPPY RICH MORROW had two children by her first married to Walker RICH.

1. Grayford RICH, b. 22 Oct 1913 who went by the name Grayford MORROW

2. Ollie RICH, b. ca. 1916, died young and buried at McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, TN.
