Mrs. Abbie E. Barnes              

Mrs. Abbie E. Barnes, a well known and highly respected citizen of this place died at her home, Oct. 9th 1883, after a protracted illness of several weeks.  She was about 81 years of age and well known in this community as Aunt Abbie Moffitt, Martin, Turner and Barnes, having been married four times.  Her remains were deposited on the morning of the 10th in the new cemetery, attended by a large circle of friends.  Funeral services by Elder H. L. Walling. Aunt Abbie was a kind hearted Christian woman, noted for her many deeds of charity and kindness to the sick and will be greatly missed in this community.  Her husband and friends have the sympathy of the community.
