Acuff Chapel Cemetery

• Other Information: The cemetery is clean and well cared for. Acuff Chapel was built between 1783 and 1786 on the land of Timothy Acuff, land given to him for his service in the Revolutionary War. It is the oldest Methodist Church in Tennessee and was built by Timothy Acuff and Micajah Adams. The building was also used as a school.
• Location: Located approximately ½ mile south of Blountville on State Route 126.

Bachman Cemetery

• Location: This cemetery is located in Sullivan Co., TN along Highway 81 between Kingsport, and Fall Branch, Washington Co., TN. It is about three quarters of a mile south-west of Sullivan Gardens, and in the northwest corner where the Mill Creek Road crosses Highway 81. The Cemetery is well kept and clean, very gew graves marked with unlettered stones, and perhaps few unmarked. All marked graves were copied, with the exception of one large stone lying on it's face.

Abraham Deck Cemetery

Go approx. 1 mile - the church is on the right. The cemetery is on the hill behind the church. There are several unmarked graves. If I am not mistaken the church does some maintenance but the last time I was there it was somewhat in a state of disrepair.

• Other Information: It is enclosed in a chain link fence. Some of the headstones are no longer legible. There are some unmarked graves, one is an unknown man who died in the barn where he had been allowed to spend the night while traveling, and numerous slaves graves and three that may be Indian graves.
• Location: Located off the Shipley Ferry Road on King Ridge. It is just off Stage Coach Road and is ½ mile past the Bethel Methodist Church.

Lonestar Cemetery

• Other Information: It is located literally on the side of the road. Although there is a sign, there is no entrance, the graveyard is entirely open along the road while fenced off on the backside toward Bay's Mtn and on both ends. The cemetary sign itself is on the western end. There are approx. 240 countable graves with possibly more which are unmarked. The cemetary exists amid rolling hills and farmland with a beautiful view of the mountain,along with the view of the Bailey subdivision. What was once considered rural, is now becoming congested with the influx of new homes. Located almost centrally in the graveyard, are two large cedar trees. Along with a peaceful feeling, there is a faint wisper of cedar scent. Although it is kept mown, there are signs of less than discreet mowing, it has taken it's toll on some of the stones. Some are chipped, cracked, a couple are completely off the base, and some are tilting and uneven. The stones range from upright markers (lg/sm), flat markers, military markers, funeral home markers, and homemade markers.
