Note on original transcription:   This bible appeared in the Roane County Historical Society Newsletter, Vol. 4, No. 5, May 1973.  It was contributed by Mrs. Willie Alma Moore, of Leeds, Alabama as follows:  From the Bible of Austin L. Green, owned by granddaughter Mrs. Neil Mahoney Duffy.

Thomas Green died in Roane Co., Tenn. Oct. 18, 1842.
Amy Green died May 23, 1854.

Austin L. Green was born in Pittslyvania Co., Va. On Friday, 5th day of July, 1811, 11th child of Thomas and Amy Keesee Green.

The death of Austin L. was written by Dr. Charles Wise Green (son of Austin).

Austin L. Green died at his home, on his farm on Clinch River, Wednesday, Aug. 5th 1903, at 8:40 A.M. Aged 92 years and one month.

Austin L. Green married Delila Crow on Tuesday the 15th of Sept. 1836 by Rev. Geo. Yost.

1st Catherine was born Jan. 3, 1838 on Wed.
2nd Henry Pierce Green was born Oct. 1st 1839 on Tuesday.
3rd William C. Green was born Jan. 3rd 1842 on Sunday.
4th Leonidas B. Green was born Feb. 10th 1844 on Sunday.
5th Seraphine J. Green was born Jan. 3rd 1846 on Saturday.
6th Thomas A. Green was born Jan. 25th 1848 on Tuesday.
7th Rebecca C. Green was born June 8th 1849 on Sunday
Delilah died the birth of Rebecca – Crow grand-parents reared her, and moved to Texas.

2nd Marriage

Austin L. Green and Emily R. Prior formerly Emily R. Liggett married on Sunday evening Jan. 13, 1850 – She was born in Kingston, Roane Co., Tenn. May 26th 1821.

1st Elizabeth Jane Green was born Jan. 21st 1851 Tuesday Morning.
2nd James Monroe Green was born May 23rd 1852, on Sunday.
3rd Willie S. Green was born Aug. 7th 1853, on Wednesday.
4th Sarah Josephine Green was born March 16th 1854 on Friday.
5th Cordelia Green was born Sept. 16th 1856 on Tuesday.
6th Austin Avery Green was born Feb. 21st 1858 on Sunday.
7th John Bell Green was born Feb. 10th
