War Casualties of East Tennessee

As a result of a joint project between the University of Tennessee’s Center for the Study of War and Society and the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial Association, you can search a database of eastern tennessee war casualties.

The database covers several wars – World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf conflict, Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 80 individuals from Rhea county are included. You can filter by county and/or war.  To access the database, visit it on the knoxnews.com website.

    Hiwassee Garrison housed US military during a formative time for Rhea county. Soldiers not only served there, but died there. I would think it very important to include those, including my ancestor Jesse Brimer, who died serving their country in and around the Garrison.
