Carney, Mrs. Anna Irene BURNETTE 7 Feb 1898 – 2 July 1982
Carney- Mrs. Anna Irene Burnette, 84 of Dayton, Tenn., widow of Mynatt Carney Sr., died Friday morning in Rhea County Medical Center. She was one of the oldest members of Clear Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Ballard, Evensville, Tenn., Mrs. Virginia Hallman, Chattanooga, Mrs. Jewell Smith, Dayton, Mrs. Lucile Loy, Hixson, and Mrs. Mary Jane Penny, Signal Mountain; three sons, Garland Carney, Detroit, Mich., Mynatt Carney Jr., Daisy, and Bobby Carney, Hixson; sister, Mrs. Russell Roddy, Dayton; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earl Glass and the Rev. Felix Harris officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons George and Scott Ballard, Bill and David Carney, Floyd O. Hallman Jr., Harold Penny Jr., Felix Fisher, Johnny Ferrell and Harry Hixson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Clear Creek Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Sawyer’s Funeral Service, Dayton.
