Formation of Perry County

 

 

 

  • Perry County is located in Middle Tennessee, one of the state’s Three Grand Divisions. It was named after the War of 1812 naval hero, Oliver Hazard Perry. Perry County was formed in 1819 from parts of Humphreys and Hickman counties.  The west boundary line of Perry County is the Tennessee River. Its county seat is Linden.
