(1) Allen H. Manier enlisted May 2nd 1861; Company organized May 25th 1861; sworn into Confederate Service June 9th 1861; 17th Tenn Inf. Col Jas Newman, Captain S.B. McDearman. Was wounded sometime in September 1861 by being thrown from a wagon which I was driving in the discharge of duty. Treated by Dr. Gentry, Surgeon, 17th Tenn Inft. Surrendered at Appomattox C.H., VA.
