Walker for his service in WWI. His father, Robert Walker, came to Obion County in the 1840’s from Floyd County, Indiana. James B. followed him and purchased a farm there in 1851. James B. Walker served in the Confederacy and as Sheriff of Obion County immediately after the war, while tensions were still high.
