MARR, Jane and EDWARDS, Jane
Departed this life, in Obion County, Tenn., on the evening of the 25th ult., after a painful illness of 17 days which was borne with Christian fortitude, Mrs. JANE, the affectionate companion of Maj. G. W. MARR, leaving a numerous train of relatives and friends to mourn her departure, who sorrow not as those who have no hope.
But this dispensation of Providence, has been rendered doubly afflictive by a second bereavement which Maj. Marr has been called upon to sustain. — On Sabbath last he was consoled by the presence of his little grand daughter, a promising child of seven years, the first born of William C. and Susan Edwards. On Monday night the emancipated spirit of this dear child was also borne aloft to the upper and better world.
Mrs. Marr was aged 55 years and 17 days: Jane M. Edwards lived 7 years 4 months and 26 days. — Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. — Hickman Herald.

Jake: I have done extensive research on the Marr family. Both Major Marr and his wife, Jane, and family are buried in the old Troy cemetery. I devoted one complete chapter to the Marr/Wilson factions of Obion County in my book, The Historic Reelfoot Lake Region, pages 71-84.
