Maxwell Rites Slated at Troy
Mrs. Lannie Turnage MAXWELL, 82-year-old resident of Troy, died Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at her home. She had been in failing health for a number of weeks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Troy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles TOWNSLEY officiating. Burial will follow in Troy Cemetery. White-Mahoon Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Edwin McADOO, Brown SANDERS, John E. HUEY, Cecil MOSS, Lester HAILEY and Clarence SMITH.
Mrs. MAXWELL was born Sept. 4, 1891, in Boyle, Miss., daughter of the late Ed F. and Mrs. Sally Wiles TURNAGE. She was married to Basil Wright MAXWELL in 1911. He died in November 1973.
She was a charter member of the Troy United Methodist Church and a member of the Ruth Class. She also was a member of the Troy Book Club and for a number of years served as secretary of the Obion County Democratic Committee.
Mrs. MAXWELL leaves a son, John B. MAXWELL of Memphis.
