Finch Cemetery
Mr. Haywood Green, local historian and writer of the Mason Hall and Turnpike area, and I [Jane Powell] visited three local cemeteries. The cemeteries were transcribed in 1960 by Mr Green and are mentioned in his book, Mason Hall Community History. Mr. Green has given his permission to post them in the hope that someone may be able to use this information.
The Turnpike Cemeteries: Roach Cemetery, Miles Cemetery and Finch Cemetery. These three cemeteries are some of the oldest in the county and at one time contained very many grave markers. They are located just south of the old Turnpike Bridge north of Mason Hall. The cemeteries have long been abandoned and very few markers remain today.
Finch Cemetery – One mile southeast of Turnpike on the Harman Caudle Road which was once the main road from Kenton to Troy.
