Squire Webster was born on Sept. 24, 1867 in the first civil district of Morgan County. (Coalfield) He married Cordia Christmas (1869-1912) on Jan. 4, 1891 she being a native of Grainger County. There were seven children born to this union. Squire Webster was the oldest Justice of the Peace in the county and State of Tennessee at the time of the writing of this article, June 23, 1960.
He served 42 years as a member of the Morgan County Quarterly Court; married over 500 hundred couples; was a road commissioner in the first district in the late 1890’s and early 1900’s; worked for a short time as a guard at Brush Mountain Prison and was general foreman for W.P.A. during the 1930’s.
Squire Webster died October 29, 1960 and was buried in the Davis Cemetery in Coalfield, Tn.
