Born at Clarksville, Montgomery County, Mar 18, 1928; son of Charles V.
and Dorothy (Lardner) Runyon. Attended Howell Grammar School, Clarksville;
Clarksville High School; received B.A. degree from University of Virginia,
Charlottesville; LL.B. degree from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Davidson
County; interim, attended Austin Peay State College, Clarksville, and Lynchburg
College, Lynchburg, VA. Married, at Clarksville, Apr 3, 1961, to Sheila
Bowman, of that city, daughter of Raymond McClure and Mary P. Bowman; children
- Mary Neil, Frank J., III, Markley Preston, and Dorothy Donnelly. In practice
of law at Clarksville. Enlisted in US Navy as seaman recruit in September
of 1950; honorably discharged as a petty officer, First Class, in August,
1954; served aboard USS L.S.T. 32 and USS Sarasota. Member Roman Catholic
Church; Knights of Columbus; sometime vice-president and treasurer, Kiwanis
Club; American Legion; on boards of United Givers Fund and of Chamber of
