Born in Sumner County, Dec 4, 1818, son of Joseph Robb. Graduated from University of Nashville, Davidson County, 1837; studied law. Married, date not found, to Mary E. Conrad, daughter of George Conrad, of Robertson County; children - Emma and Ed C. Began practice of law in Gallatin, Sumner County; moved to Clarksville, Montgomery County, 1850, to continue law practice. One of founders of Bank of America, Clarksville, 1856; one of incorporators of Stewart College, Clarksville, 1856; Robb Hall on college campus named in his honor. Delegate to Democratic National Conventions of 1860 at Charleston and Baltimore. In Confederate Army; enlisted at Clarksville, Nov 29, 1861, Co. A, 49th TN Infantry; elected Lieut. Col. of regiment, Dec 26, 1861; mortally wounded at Fort Donelson, Feb 15, 1862; died two days later, Feb 17; buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
