Goodpasture, Ridley Rose  (1884 – 1942)

HOUSE, 62nd General Assembly, 1921-23; representing Montgomery County; Democrat. Born in Clarksville, Montgomery County, May 21, 1884; son of Albert Virgil and Jennie Wilson (Dawson) Goodpasture. Attended public schools of Nashville, Davidson County; University of Nashville; University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Knox County; received LL.B. degree, 1907, from Cumberland University, Lebanon, Wilson County. Never married. Practiced law at Clarksville; also engaged in farming and the breeding of purebred cattle and Hampshire sheep. Appointed 1937, general sessions judge at Clarksville, elected for second term at time of death. Member Cumberland Presbyterian Church; president Philomatic Society. Died at Clarksville Oct 8, 1942; buried in Greenwood Cemetery. Son of Albert Virgil Goodpasture; grandson of Jefferson Dillard Goodpasture; nephew of John Ridley Goodpasture, sometime members TN General Assembly.
