Peterson, Isaac Roland (1860 - 1954)

HOUSE, 63rd and 64th General Assemblies, 1923-27; representing Montgomery County; Democrat. Born near Clarksville, Montgomery County, May 20, 1860; son of James E. and Catherine (Priestly) Peterson. Attended “common schools” of Montgomery County. Never married. Engaged in farming; lived his ninety-three years in the house in which born. Director in First Trust and Savings Bank, Clarksville. Chairman, Montgomery County Revenue Board; food administrator for county during World War I. Member Baptist Church, serving as superintendent of Sunday thirty-five years; Knights of Pythias; Independent Order of Odd Fellows, serving on board of trustees of Odd Fellows Home; member Chamber of Commerce; advisory board Easter Dark Fired Tobacco Growers Assn; one of incorporators of State Farm Bureau; first president Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Died at home in Montgomery County, Apr 21, 1954; buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
