Leach, Albert Martin  (1859 – 1926)

HOUSE, 56th and 57th General Assemblies, 1909-13; representing Montgomery County; Speaker of House in 57th; Democrat. Born at Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, June 29, 1859; son of James T. and Lucy J. (Winston) Leach. Extent of schooling not determined. Married first Nov 22, 1882 to Fannie Texie Shannon; second marriage to her sister, Frusie Shannon, May 2, 1892; seven children, by which marriage not indicated – T. E., A. A., Annie, Grace, Mrs. E. L. Hill, Mrs. E. I. Beales, and Mrs. Homer E. Shannon. Buggy builder and blacksmith; moved to Clarksville, Montgomery County, and went in business with brother under firm name of Leach and Leach. Election commissioner in Montgomery County a number of years. Member Methodist Episcopal Church. Died at Clarksville, Sept 5, 1926; buried at Murfreesboro.
