HOUSE, 60th General Assembly, 1917-1919; representing Montgomery County; Democrat. Born in Clarksville, Montgomery County, June 3, 1860; son of Edward and Honora (Bresnahan) Hussey, natives of Ireland who came to Tennessee in 1847. Attended public schools. Married in Nov, 1889, to Leona Lewis, native of Stewart County and daughter of William C. Lewis; one son – Paul. Worked with railroad eighteen years; resigned as assistant roadmaster to enter mercantile and manufacturing business; opened general store in 1893; also engaged in agricultural pursuits; sold his interests at Palmyra, Montgomery County, preparatory to moving to Florida. Election commissioner in Montgomery County for number of years; chairman county Democratic Executive Committee; member Democratic Executive Committee for Congressional district; postmaster at Palmyra four years. Member Roman Catholic Church. Died in 1921; exact date and place of date not determined; buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Montgomery County.
