Schooling described as "careful education in the Academy at Cumberland City". Married Nov 8, 1911 to Helen Dodds of Jackson, Madison County, daughter of J. S. Dodds; two sons – Thomas Polk, Jr. and Joseph Dodds. Engaged in farming, stock-raising, and tobacco planting; chairman Planter's Assn; removed to Springfield, Robertson County, where represented the Life and Casualty Insurance Co. Justice of the peace and county court member, 1906-12; member Montgomery County Highway Commission two years; member of county board of education two years. Member Protestant Episcopal Church; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; Loyal Order of the Moose; Junior Order of United American Mechanics. Died at Springfield Feb 9, 1948; buried in White Chapel Church Cemetery, Robertson County.
