Ewing, Thomas Polk  (1885 – 1948)

HOUSE, 57th General Assembly, 1911-13; representing Montgomery and Houston Counties; Democrat. Born in Montgomery County Apr 19, 1885; son of Finis and Frances Douglas (Polk) Ewing. Schooling described as "careful education in the Academy at Cumberland City". Married Nov 8, 1911 to Helen Dodds of Jackson, Madison County, daughter of J. S. Dodds; two sons – Thomas Polk, Jr. and Joseph Dodds. Engaged in farming, stock-raising, and tobacco planting; chairman Planter's Assn; removed to Springfield, Robertson County, where represented the Life and Casualty Insurance Co. Justice of the peace and county court member, 1906-12; member Montgomery County Highway Commission two years; member of county board of education two years. Member Protestant Episcopal Church; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; Loyal Order of the Moose; Junior Order of United American Mechanics. Died at Springfield Feb 9, 1948; buried in White Chapel Church Cemetery, Robertson County.
