Married first at Shiloh, Montgomery County, Aug 15, 1928 to Sara Allen, daughter of Burl and Mary (Sullivan) Allen, she died Dec 9, 1943; son – Cuyler Allen; second marriage Sep 2, 1954 to Mrs. Lemma (Sisca) Cruce, of Marion, Crittenden County, KY, daughter of Lemuel N. and Frances (Enoch) Sisca. Engaged in farming at Woodlawn, Rt. 3, Montgomery County. In World War I; inducted at Clarksville Aug 31, 1918; served in Student Army Training Corps, University of Tennessee, to Oct 27, 1918; Pvt., Motor Truck Corps; honorably discharged at demobilization, Jan 8, 1919; member Methodist Episcopal Church; supt. of Sunday School, 1926-46; member official board since 1925; trustee; member Free and Accepted Masons; Alpha Tau Omega fraternity; charter member Montgomery County Farm Bureau, president 1935, 1936, and 1937; member American Legion.
