To all to whom these presents shall come=greetings
KNOW YE, That, for and in consideration of an Entry made in the Entry taker’s Office of Marshall County pursuant to an Act of the General Assembly of Said State and Entered on the 30th December 1852 by No. 78
there is granted by the State of Tennessee, unto Newton McQuiddy
a certain Tract or Parcel of LAND, containing 6 & 1/4 acres
by survey bearing date the 30th day of December 1852 lying in said county in District No. 7. Beginning at a cedar marked with the letter “O,” M. W. Oakley’s corner, also on the said McQuiddy’s corner, & thence S 4-degrees E 73 & 1/2 poles to a stake, the said McQuiddy’s corner, thence West 9 poles to a stake, his corner, thence North 10 poles to a stake, his corner, thence West 8 poles to a stake near an Elm marked for a corner, thence North 63 & 1/2 poles to the Beginning
With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To HAVE and to HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of LAND, with its appurtenances, to the said Newton McQuiddy
and his heirs forever.
In Witness Whereof, William B. Campbell, Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Nashville, on the fourth day of January in the year of our lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty three , and of the independence of the United States, the seventy ______.
