Submitted by: Sandy Fine

Inscription on the back of the picture : "Cave College School, teacher Albert Moore" and "Almeda Lomax and Zoe Lomax".

Zoe was the second wife of Sandy's  husband's grandfather Claude Fine and Almeda was her sister.  It is unknown when the picture was taken but Zoe was born in 1896.  It is estimated that the picture was taken around 1905-10.  It could be as late as 1915 because Sandy has Sarah Zoe Lomax's certificate showing she had completed Public Primary School dated April 9, 1915.

Other information has been found in the Loudon Co 1970 Centennial Paper.  Caption underneath picture of unidentified children standing in front of painted frame structure: "CAVE COLLEGE which was located near the Charles H. Bacon Farm on Vonore Road was moved to Burton Mill and became Burton Mill School.  This picture was made at the Burton Mill School sometime around 1917 or 18.  The teachers were Delia and Ella Mizell".
