Donnell Smith, age 91 of Hohenwald, TN passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 8, 2020. She was born November 4, 1928 in Hickman County to the late George Oron Rochelle & Jennie Mae (Nicks) Rochelle.

She graduated from Hickman County of High School in 1946, and was a housewife. She was married to the late Billy Ward Smith for 54 years. She was a member of the Hohenwald Church of Christ for the last 60+ years, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed baking pies in her spare time and picking flowers.

Survivors include: daughter, Darlon Smith of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter, Marsha Smith of Nunnelly, TN, daughter, Karen Smith of Bolivar, TN, sisters, Elise McCoy, Georgia Spurgeon, Marie Harville & Freida Walker, grandchildren, Kelley Brown, Darren Hudson & Sarah Harmon, great-grandchildren, Mellaina Hudson, Jackson Brown, Charlotte Brown & Riley Collins and a cat named Katie.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Billy Ward Smith, and brothers, Paul Rochelle and Charles Joseph Rochelle.

Visitation with the family will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2020.  Following visitation, a graveside service will be held beginning at 3:00 PM in the Charles L Nickell Memorial Park Cemetery, Centerville, TN, Bill McDonald will officiate.

Per the family’s wishes masks will be required.
