Delos Marmaduke Cowan,  age 90, of Michie, TN passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Crawfordsville, IN to the late Lawrence Cowan & Ruth Bruner. 

After graduating High School, he worked on his parents farm until he enlisted in the US Army in 1954. He served for 2 years.  After being honorably discharged, he returned home where he worked on a Shrimp Boat for many years.  From this a love for boating and being on the water was born.  He then went on to be a long haul truck driver for 30 years owning his own truck and trailer for most of those years. His family stated he just loved to ride down the road with no destination in mind.  His love for the farm never left him though; he loved to farm and garden.  He would often occupy his time at home watching antique tractor shows on TV.

Survivors include his wife, Opal (Stephens) Cowan, 4 sons, Roy (Carol), Arnold (Carol), Jimmy (Barbee) and Timmy (Hollie) Cowan, 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Delores Hillis & Marjorie Cowan.

A visitation with the family will be held on 25 January 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Lewis County.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Stephens Cemetery on Brush Creek, Linden, TN .
