Fly, Leslie Gray
Leslie Gray Fly, 77, retired from Union Carbide and resident of Rockhouse Road in Hohenwald, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. Burial followed in the Santa Fe Cemetery. The Maury County native was born November 5, 1933 to the late Leslie R. Fly and Clara Mai Gray Fly. A 1952 graduate of Central High School in Columbia, he was former president of Operating Engineers 912, had served as Union Steward for Union Carbide, past employee of Columbia Fire Department and a member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Roxanne Lynne Fly of Hohenwald; children, Leslie Marie (Billy Ray) Huckaby of Spring Hill, Sheryll Flener of Columbia, Tamela Westmoreland of Hohenwald, Douglas (Paula) Barnes of Sardis, Mississippi, James (Misty) Barnes of Guthrie, Kentucky, and Tranace Farris, a granddaughter who lived with them and was reared by them; a brother, Jerry (Wanda) Fly of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.’
