Cowart, Mozell
Mozell Cowart of Hohenwald, TN was born September 28, 1932, in Kelsey, TX to the late Thomas McGinty and Maude (Muckleroy) McGinty, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
A native of Texas, Mrs. Cowart moved to Hohenwald, TN in 1999 to be closer to her family, after retiring from Scurlock Oil Company in Houston, TX. She was born and raised in a small Mormon town in Texas and was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In her spare time she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; sewing, gardening, and baking, she was known for many delicious treats such as banana bread and her “Famous Rolls”. With the baking also came a “sweet tooth”, and a love for chocolate and ice cream.
Mrs. Cowart is survived by her daughter, Cassandra (Tom) Warner of Hohenwald, son, Cecil (Wilhelmenia) Hill of Columbia, daughter, Gayla (Kim) Prince of Milagro, NM, brother, James McGinty, sister, Alice Simmons, sister, Noma Christiman, seven grandchildren, Christiana Hicks, Robert Hill, Kimberly Duvail, Crystal Tompkins, Kim Prince Jr., Christopher Prince & Matthew Prince, twenty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Orville Cowart, brother, Ray McGinty, brother, Merle McGinty, and sister, Maudine Bailey.
A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald, Funeral services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Mozell will then be transported back to her home state and buried in the Kelsey Cemetery in Gilmer, TX.
